LOCKERBIE MUSIC FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR

Violist Donna Lively Clark was a full scholarship student of the renowned William Primrose at Indiana University School of Music and has also studied with William Lincer, Georges Janzer, and Alan de Veritch. A Bachelor of Music Educatiion from Indiana University was followed by a Master of Music in Viola Performance from Butler University. An active and well-known teacher and clinician, she has served on the faculties of Indiana University, Ball State University, and Butler University and as the artist violin/viola teacher for the Performing Arts Magnet at Broad Ripple High School, the Viola School, and the Carmel Conservatory of Music. Other significant teaching appointments include the Viola Camp at Pepperdine University, Malibu CA; the National String Workshop at University of Wisconsin, Madison; Franklin Pond Chamber Music, Atlanta GA; and Ecole Saint Trinite, Port au Prince, Haiti. In August of 2006 she performed at the Bellingham Music Festival, WA. A 2001 Creative Renewal Fellowship led to research, performances, and a CD project in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The CD, entitled "Una Viola Portena", is a tribute to the "Heart and Soul of Argentina". An earlier jazz collaboration resulted in two CD's; "Dancin' with Bird" (featuring the Lockerbie String Quartet) and "Erosonata" (featuring solo viola).

Ms. Clark resides in Indianapolis, IN where she was a founder (and present) member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, a charter member of Suzuki and Friends Chamber Orchestra, and a founder of Arts Indiana. An avid chamber music performer, she began estaablishing various chamber ensembles and concerts series to host performances of these groups in the 1970's. During the 70's and 80's the trio and quartet coached with the Cleveland and Juillard String Quartets and studied at the Banff Institute with Zoltan Szekely and Georges Janzer. Through the years the ensembles have expanded, matured and flourished under her management.

LOCKERBIE MUSIC proudly offers six different ensembles to present beautiful CONCERTS and play FESTIVE MUSIC for many occasions including WEDDINGS, RECEPTIONS, MEMORIAL SERVICES, and corporate or private PARTIES. Each ensemble has a large and varied repertoire and we have had many years of experience assisting couples plan magnificent music to make their ceremony even more special.
